ITINERARY: 5 DAYS & 4 NIGHTS (MAX 06 PAX)
DAY 01: Kota Kinabalu – Maliau Basin Study Centre (B, L, D)
• Depart at 8.00am to Keningau. Have early lunch in Keningau and then continue the journey for another 4 hours to Maliau Basin Study Centre (register and check-in). Travel for another hour to Agathis Camp.
• Visit Maliau ‘skybridge’ and explore the Nature Trail.
• Attend a video presentation after dinner.
• You may participate in OPTIONAL activities: Night Drive/Night Walk.
• Rest.
DAY 02: Maliau Basin Study Centre – Agathis Camp – Nephenthes Camp (B, L, D)
• Take an early morning walk to listen to the forest come to life for the day.
• Proceed for 30 minutes drive to Agathis Camp and then attend a briefing relating to trekking for 5-6 hours, covering a distance of 7.5km to Nephenthes Camp and ETA by 2.00pm.
• If you have extra energy, you can trek to Takop Akop and Giluk waterfalls –depending on your fitness level, time & weather permitted.
• Dinner & Rest.
DAY 03: Nephenthes Camp – Maliau Waterfall – Ginseng Camp (B, L, D)
• Visit the Observation Tower early in the morning for bird watching activity.
• Gear up and get ready to cover almost 7km of trekking from Nephenthes Camp to the majestic Maliau Waterfall and ETA by 3.00pm. Enjoy the view of Maliau Basin Rim at Lobah Helipad.
• By 4.00pm, start trekking for 5km to Ginseng Camp and ETA before 7.00pm.
• Dinner & Rest.
DAY 04: Ginseng Camp – Agathis Camp – Maliau Basin Study Centre (B, L, D)
• Pack your staff and start a 9km trekking to Agathis Camp and ETA by 2.00pm.
• Then transfer back to Maliau Basin Study Centre.
• After dinner, you may participate in OPTIONAL activities: Night Drive/Night Walk
• Rest.
DAY 05: Maliau Basin Study Centre – Kota Kinabalu (B, L)
• Depart at 8.00am and stopover at the Observation Tower for a final picture of the Maliau Rim.
• Stop for lunch in Keningau and continue the journey to Kota Kinabalu and ETA by 5.00pm.
• END OF TOUR
